This Nursing Home Comprehensive (NC) Item Set is encoded and transmitted to iQIES when a resident is admitted to a nursing home setting, on a quarterly as well as annual basis and when a resident has a significant change in status. The Comprehensive assessment is an OBRA comprehensive assessment, therefore it contains all of the data items available. Subsets of those data items are used on the other 8 Item Sets, depending on the reason for those assessments.
